On Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, Troy Public Library hosts Diwali Lights & Sparkles from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Meeting Room at 510 W Big Beaver Rd, Troy, MI 48084.
The library calendar lists a teen-friendly craft evening: decorate a CD into a sparkling diya centerpiece with a tea light; pom-pom garlands; 3D lanterns; and mandala coloring. Vegetable samosas and chutney are offered while supplies last. The listing frames the hour as light, color, and art inspired by Diwali traditions.
Why it belongs here
Michigan Now records Sanatan Dharma and Hindu-community developments in this state. A named Michigan public library putting a Diwali craft program on its civic calendar — the same night as Novi's city fest — is that lane. This desk records the room and the program as Eternal Order philosophies of light kept in public practice, not as a sermon and not as a headcount.
