What rta actually meant
A short briefing on rta as cosmic order, and why calling it modern law loses the thing that made the word necessary.
Rta is older than the courtroom. In the early hymns it names the order that makes seasons, vows, and speech trustworthy.

The Vedic use is not a statute book. It is closer to a claim about the world: there is a grain in things, and human conduct can run with it or against it.
Paraphrase: rta is the order that precedes enforcement.
Interpretation, marked as such
Modern writers often flatten rta into "natural law" or "the rules." That is tidy and a little wrong. Law is what you write when the grain is no longer felt. Rta is the felt grain.
This digest does not prove a policy. It restores a distinction. If we keep using dharma as a sticker, we should at least remember the older word that dharma was asked to protect.
